Un pietanza per due - Ch. 17

Quite the Kerfalafel

Ao3

Nestled within the hectic life of the Windy City is a quaint Italian  restaurant with a head chef missing the spice in his life and a new  busboy who just wants to find a way to feel not so out-of-place in this  new world. Together, they begin to find there’s more out there for them  to enjoy in life than a mere plate of carbonara. Buon appetito.

I looooove your fic titles, they're always just so good! What's your favorite that you've come up with?

Oh definitely “Sugar, Spice, and Damn, you Taste Nice”

Honestly I hate my titles so much. I only land on two extreme ends of the spectrum: either really blase or incredibly pretentious. Sugar is my exception to that rule. And it’s also the only title that I came up with like. Immediately. Every other one was such a slogging ordeal to come up with pft.

Thanks for appreciatin’ ‘em tho that’s very sweet of you <3

Might I ask what happened to some of your earlier works? I remember being a huge fan of Posession. Kenny trying to save Kyle from Cartman in their hero/villain personas. Do you happen to have a copy of them somewhere?

Regardless, hope you are well and wish you all the best.

I was embarrassed of them as they were disasters and also highly problematic and corny so I deleted them. I have like, half of Unmasked that was saved from the computer it was written on but Possession is lost to the ages. I’m sorry, man, I was just really sick of all the negative comments about them and how they were the only stories anyone knew me for.

If you want alternatives, my story Seven Candles and it’s sequel have Ken and Kyle with supernatural powers and a lot of soul and death talk. And then my other story, Painted in Shrouds, is another Kysterion tale with Cartman as a villain. I know it’s not the same but a substitution is the best I can do unfortunately.

But thank you for remembering my OG babies 🤎💚🧡

hiii! i love your fics (cryle4lyfe but also a K2 convert but i rlly will read anything…i have zero point here i think lol) and i remember you saying on your blog that you had been trying to write but couldn’t for some reason. i am so excited seeing updates on your fics (they’re always tops in quality, you have a real gift for writing in general and i think it’s because you don’t hold back or artificially inhibit yourself, it’s about telling the story!)

in general, i was wondering what made things unstuck! or if it just felt right (motivation intersected with desire interested with will intersected with inspiration , etc etc)

Honestly? I got a job.

I don’t write well when I have nothing but free time. I was unemployed just sitting alone in my apartment for ten months and didn’t write a damn thing. I started my job in February and all of a sudden I can’t wait to get home and write.

I guess it’s probably a combination of how I function best under time pressure and also I’m an accountant so there’s a lot of moments where I’m doing invoice entries or something else mindless so my imagination drifts and I get random plot/dialogue/etc ideas. There’s also my added personal pressure of I’m not letting myself start a fic I really want to work on until I get at least most of my current fics updated and runnin’ again. I’m a real bully to myself.

But thank you so much for your kind words! I really appreciate it <3

Do you miss the community?

I do, truly.

I miss having people to bounce ideas off of and spout stupid headcanons at and just having a sense of camaraderie with people. I was actually writing this afternoon and had a passing thought of “man I miss writing on TitanPad with the gang they’d help me work through this stupid sentence I’m stuck on”.

But I am an old lady now so I tend to just write and not engage in the fandom space so I don’t risk having kids talking to me about inappropriate fandom stuff and creating an awful situation for us both. I have no idea what the state of the fandom is anymore and it’s probably better that way. I can remember it in its heyday and miss the people who have passed through that we never heard from again.

You mentioned adjusting the rating of Technicolor. I dont remember if you're one to adjust rating as it goes or set it right away for what's already planned? I was curious because Kyle's condition is so dependent on the senses, I already thought it was going to show every graphic physical detail he experiences because it'll be very interesting o:

If I have a plot that’s already pretty set in stone, I’ll usually make the determination when I start the story for what rating it needs to be at. I only adjust the rating for violence and sex, and there was like, the barest hint of graphically describing the sex scene in the last chapter so I just bumped it up from T to M because it was kind of an impulse decision to put more detail about the actual act itself rather than solely focusing on Kyle’s turmoil during said act.

Like it was the most chaste and non-detailed I’ve ever written a damn sex scene but I know some people who read T stuff and get very upset when all of a sudden there is cock. I still haven’t plotted out the actual sex scene and I have like 30-some chapters planned out so far. And I still have no idea how graphic it’ll get, though I imagine it’ll have a lot more physical description just based on where I’m kind of imagining it going. Techni is more a world for me to practice my prose and focus on emotions rather than physicality, but it’s up in the air for a lot of details just because I still don’t even have a central conflict so I’m trying to not only figure out the physicality of it all, but the overarching plot I’m even trying to get towards.

You’re absolutely right that Kyle’s condition is all about the senses, but it’s trying to strike the balance between physical sensation and, for a lack of better term, the abstract complexities that he’s experiencing. Most of his physical sensation is “ouchie my head” while his brain is just fucking exploding in slow motion, so figuring out where he would get distracted from said ouchie head to focus on other feelings of touch and not just on the colors and sounds he’s wading through is a weird juggling game.

I'm not sure why but I'm really compelled to ask and know. How do you usually visualize Kenny? I know for some stories appearance can vary for the story but overall what's your most common and loved overarching features you envision for him [[and that Kyle likes cough]]?

Well I’ve always seen Ken as a lanky boi, I decided almost two decades ago he’s 6'3" and haven’t fucking wavered from that, but boy is always slouchin’ so he seems closer to just 6’ until someone annoys him or piques his attention and suddenly he has a growth spurt. (The better for Kyle to have to do tippy-toe kisses)

He’s just a pure twunk, he has the litheness to him from a stupid active metabolism but he has some defined af arms and legs because lbr, he has to have an active job to keep his attention span (or he’s moonlighting as Mysterion) (or doing both). (The better to pin Kyle down)

He has v thick and messy hair where it almost defies physics how sporadically the direction of of each section goes. Someone will watch him comb it out and they blink and suddenly he was apparently in a windstorm. (The better for Kyle to grab)

His eyes are stupidly light blue, like fucking ice-light. So it gives him a very bright and excitable look when he’s interested in something but that shit pierces when he gets pissed off. (The better to get Kyle to drop his bratty tendencies)

I also see him with stupidly big feet like, size 12.5 or some shit. And not for the jokes of “you know what they say about guys with big feet” but instead because it just gives me joy thinking of that provides even more opportunity for him to be a disastrous klutz and trip over all the things. (The better to trip and fall into Kyle over and over amirite)

I vary on like, levels of scruff and scars/moles/other physical markings but the above always remains steady for me.

I just love my burrito. I’ve been kinda neglecting him because I’ve been ridin’ Kytophe for a few years a lil harder now but Burrito is always in my heart.

In the Dusk of Stars - Ch. 31

‘l’Edonil d’Slyannen’

AO3

When the elven heir apparent to the Larnion throne and the mute human “princess” of Kupa Keep are arranged to be wed to join Zaron’s forces, neither can initially claim they’re thrilled, but forge ahead under their own motivations. In the shadows, however, lurk enemies: One merely set on ending their reigns and grasping more power, and one whose intentions stretch far beyond mere politics.

Technicolor Reverie - Ch. 09

AO3 || ffnet

With a lifetime of blinding colors and deafening sounds hanging over his  pounding head, it’s only natural for Kyle to fall for the first dose of  inviting warmth he stumbles upon. Luckily for him, his singing  salvation seems to be seeing the same tune.

I think it's kinda funny how you're the only one who's picked up damien/kyle after jwink. Weird that more people aren't following suit lol xD

Okay so this has been sitting in my inbox for about a week now. Let’s talk about it.

First I wanna say I don’t know jwink personally I’ve never spoken to them and I only read like one of their fics years ago and it was cryle. So nothing said here is against them in any way, shape, or form. I’m sure they’re a lovely person.

But my dude.

My dude.

I was the second person ever to write Dyle back in 2010. And the first fucking one? It was just like a 200 word drabble. I was the first person to write a Dyle series with my “Living the Sin” series (which I absolutely had to go check the name of BECAUSE IT’S BEEN SO LONG).

And then I put out both Renaissance of Lilith and Seven Candles in 2015, both Dyle stories, and Renaissance was the FIRST full chaptered story of the pairing. Candles’ sequel, Valley of Rephaim, is what started updating again last week which is probably what prompted your ask here. Which means that series altogether is already on like, chapter fucking 68 or thereabouts like I’ve been doing this a while.

Like ya know what I have not contributed a lot to this fandom. I wrote a lot of Kyle torture, a lot of K2, and a spattering of other things people know. But I’ll be damned if my contributions to Dyle are fucking ignored and I’m told I’m following someone else’s ideas.

Do not cite the old magics to me, witch, I WAS THE ONE WHO WROTE THEM
